Hey, Nicki Minaj, We Can See Through Your Pantsuit

Imagine Nicki Minaj's embarrassment when she showed up at the Hot 97 Thanksgiving Concert thinking she was wearing a respectable pantsuit, only to find out that it was compeltely see-through in the back! It's the real-life manifestation of all those adolescent nightmares we used to have. Only in this case, it's real! Nicki's a professional though, so the fact that her ass was visible to all who cared to look didn't keep her from putting on an amazing show. Nor did it stop Rihanna from grabbing two handfuls of said ass. We applaud Nicki for her courage, hope she recovers from her horrific embarrassment and trust that she's learned a lesson about looking at both the front and back of her clothes before purchase.

R.I.P. Rihanna's Shoulder Pads (2009-2010)

Kanye West interviewed Rihanna for the December issue of Interview magazine. And guess what one of his first questions was about? Yep, fashion! Specifically, "how has it evolved since the start of [her] career." And as pointed out over at Styleite, the Good Girl Gone Bad says she went from “a very, innocent, girly look," to "a darker, edgier look." And now? Rihanna says she's "over the whole structured clothing, overly shoulder-padded shit. I like stuff that's easy without trying too hard. I don’t like stuff that’s too contrived." Well, RiRi, before you brush off your shoulders (which we will miss dearly), lets celebrate them. Here's a look back at our favorite Rihanna shoulder padded moments.

THE BEGINNING: PUFFY SHOULDERS
Rihanna's shoulder situation started off less pointy and more pillowy in plush suit jackets and feminine tops with padding that looked powerful, but still soft.

Rihanna at the Gramercy Park Hotel in New York City on June 29, 2009, at the Balmain Pret a Porter during Paris Womenswear Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2010 on October 1, 2009 and backstage during Givenchy Pret a Porter during Paris Fashion Week on October 4, 2009.

STREET CHIC
As Rihanna's toppers shrunk and became more form-fitting, her shoulder pads got narrower and grew pointier. Very Balmain.

SOFTER POINT
By adding feathers and fabric, or cutting off one shoulder pad altogether, Rihanna showed a more feminine side. Sure, she was still making a fashion point, but it wasn't as in-your-face.

THE END: SHOULDER EXPLOSION
Are these super-embellished, patterned and printed, quarterback-style performance pads the last we'll see from Rihanna? We sure hope not!

Adriana Lima's comeback

Leading fashion photographer Russell James has done it all, from filming and directing art films to capturing unique and provocative stills of prominent women in the entertainment and modeling industry. But even with all the glitz and glam of traveling the world photographing supermodels, James is well known for his sincere appreciation of the environment and the native aboriginals from Australia, and has embarked on a project entitled Nomad Two Worlds to do just that.

Nomad Two Worlds Project

A Western Australian native, James started the project back in early 2009 with the support of fashion designer Donna Karan, actor Hugh Jackman, and the Australian government. The project's aim is to inspire awareness for child health research, along with preserving the relationship between modern Australian civilization and the surviving culture of its aboriginal people.
James had the idea for the project back in February 2008, when Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd, addressed the public in a nationwide apology for the atrocities committed by the men of parliament in the past to it's indigenous Australian people.
"For me as an adult to see that occur, it was so inspirational and encouraging, that I felt, I have to do something," James said in a video clip on his site detailing the issue.
A collaboration with Victoria's Secret Angel Adriana Lima was established to then stream a come-back video on the Nomad Two World Project's site to pump up the model's return from a months-long maternal hiatus. After giving birth in mid-November to daughter Valentina, Lima returned on the scene with her old, if not better looking, figure, ready to slip back into those nighties, and continue with her career.
The video was produced by James himself and edited by Barry Alexander Brown, an Academy Award nominated editor who's also edited some of James's more recent work. With a running time of three minutes, the video features Adriana Lima at her best, showing off her re-sleeked figure in a boxing ring, her preferred form of exercise, and the one that helped her slim down after the birth of Valentina. Shot to Italian DJ Benny Benassi's remix of Jimi Hendrix's "Purple Haze", the video features a fierce boxing match and a short shower scene.
Other supporters of the Nomad Two Worlds project include pop sensation Black Eyed Peas, the Fox Family, Baz Luhrman, the Australian Literacy and Numeracy Foundation, the Department of Reconciliation and Repatriation, Metro Gallery, and the Institute for Child Health Research. You can check out their site at nomad.dipdive.com to find the video.

Flo Rida and Akon's new hit "Who that Girl"

Like… well, just about everything the dude’s released, new single Who Dat Girl sees Flo Rida overtaken by the charms of a beautiful woman. This time, however, the story’s set not at the club, but at the emcee’s local polling place, where the artist spots an alluring shawty in line to cast her ballot. OK, that was a lie designed to subtly influence readers to run to the polls while (or if) there’s still time. PSA over. In reality, this is another of Flo’s trademark radio/club bangers, featuring a beat strongly reminiscent of Dr. Luke‘s work on Tik Tok and all the lust-fueled rhymes we’ve come to expect from the Panhandle State representative (“I imagine her topless, she might set off my rocket,” etc.). Adding an extra jolt of pop appeal, Konvict head honcho Akon jumps aboard to lend his vocals to the double-time chorus. So, readers, is Dat Girl a worthy successor to its Booth-acclaimed predecessor, Turn Around? Whatever your take on the matter, you’ll find both of the aforementioned cuts and plenty more on the rapper’s Only One Flo (Pt.1) LP, due out

Flo Rida premiered today the music video for "Who Dat Girl", the official third single from his new album
"Only One Flo (Part 1)" - released this week on November 30th - The track features Akon and was produced by Dr Luke...which I'm sure you could easily imagined as the song's beat sounds like a mix of 'California Gurls' and 'Tik Tok'. Anyways, "Who Dat Girl" is just an okay song to me...it has a catchy hook...yeah...but that's it. The rest is forgettable IMO. It seems "Club Can't Handle" will remain as the album's best single thus far. The new music video for "Who Dat Girl" was directed by Ray Kay, the guy behind Willow Smith's dope "Whip my Hair" visual. It was good! The clip basically revolves around a cyberspace girl who finds her way into the real world, by accident, and enjoys a good time with Flo before disappearing.

Justin Bieber: restaurant critic

Justin Bieber: restaurant critic

Looks like Justin Bieber has been at the E numbers again.
Last night he left fellow diners horrified as he misbehaved on a night out at super posh restaurant, La Porte Des Indes.
The teen pop sensation reportedly felt tipped on a ‘hilarious’ moustache, played with his toys at the table (!) before throwing a tantrum.
Oh lesbian haired one – we told you to lay off the Sunny Delight! Isn’t it about time someone put this kid down for a nap?
At one point he was seen playing with a remote-controlled helicopter, which one fellow diner reckons he flew into his minder's head…(We are controlling the urge to laugh at evidently immature antics).
Can we really blame Biebs for getting a tad over excited? He has nominated for two Grammy’s at the age of 6 (ish).
Justin, who resembles a toupeed foetus, has also gone on record discussing his amorous feelings for our very own Chezza Cole.
Talking to Fearne on Radio One yesterday Justin confimed he has, in fact, hit puberty by saying he enjoyed meeting Cheryl Cole, who he said was 'hot' and 'fit'.
Yeah calm down Bebo, she’s ours.

Ashton Kutcher's alleged mistress releases sex tape

Ashton Kutcher's alleged mistress releases sex tape
The latest instalment in the seemingly endless Ashton Kutcher-alleged-mistress saga has just popped up. First 21-year-old Brittney Jones claimed to have had a hot one night stand with Ashton. Next she alleged that he and wife Demi Moore have an open relationship and that they often have threesomes. She told Star magazine in the US, "He said they share women, but he isn't supposed to go off and sleep with women on his own. He said Demi had to be there and that Demi likes to pick the girls out." Now, in a thoroughly unsurprising turn of events, Brittney’s cashing in on her shag-a-star fame by releasing a sex tape.
But the Kutcher-Moores aren’t taking it lying down (if you’ll pardon the expression). Ashton’s suing Vivid entertainment, the company behind the tape, for trying to use his name to get extra publicity. Their press release says, “Vivid has obtained never-before-released footage that shows Brittney engaged in very explicit, uninhibited sex with a former boyfriend. Ashton's fans will undoubtedly enjoy seeing what the star himself may have experienced.”
Ashton’s lawyers have sent a strongly worded letter saying they’re infringing on his "marketable celebrity identity value" but the company’s CEO, Steve Hirsch, insists the release will go ahead.
Let's just hope Ashton and Demi can leave this one to the legal eagles. Although we have to admit that we'd quite like to see Demi's long lost GI Jane moves in action...

Madonna's just a woman, says new boyfriend

Madonna's just a woman, says new boyfriend

With her iconic status, ridiculous income, glittering career, chequered love life and ability to reinvent herself as easily as heatworld gets a new haircut, you might think there was something very special about the world-striding superstar known as Madonna. So you’ll be pleased to know that Her Madgesty is, after all, mostly just a woman – at least according to her latest lover.
French hip-hop breakdancer Brahim Zaibat is just 24 to Madge’s 52, the same age as her previous boyfriend, Brazilian Jesus Luz. But despite the difference in age and status Brahim’s not intimidated by his famous filly.
He tells French Grazia, “It wasn't like meeting a monster! She's just a woman like all the others. She's an extraordinary artist and world famous, of course, but a woman above all. You know she wasn't the first well known female singer I'd met. I was delighted to meet her but not stressed out.”
There was nothing calculated in the way the affair was made public either: he said, “We were in a club and we were seen dancing together. It was because it was Madonna that the affair took on massive proportions. We had a nice night together without thinking that there might be paparazzi there.”
In fact, Brahim’s so unimpressed by his lady love’s status that he insists the only effect it’s had has been on other people, saying, “I've stayed the same. It's others who have changed. People I haven't seen for seven years have suddenly remembered that I exist. It's become unmanageable. So I've changed my mobile number.”
Refreshingly un-starstruck or incredibly naĂŻve? You decide!

Victoria Beckham's bathroom habits revealed

Victoria Beckham's bathroom habits revealed

Newflash! Victoria Beckham is a complete slob! We know, we know, we would never have though it was possible; the Spice Girl-turned-surprisingly credible designer is always immaculately turned out, so it comes as something of a shock to heatworld to hear that she’s actually very messy. But it must be true though, because it comes direct from the mouth of her (still extremely fit) hubby.
This astonishing information was revealed during an interview with InStyle magazine, which also shed some new light on the domestic goings-on of the Couple Formerly Known as Posh and Becks. David told the mag that, as well as leaving the top off the toothpaste, Vic always leaves her drawers open. Fortunately, though, they have separate bathrooms so he doesn’t have to deal with her chaos.
She said, “I’m very messy. Clean, but very messy. We’re lucky enough to have separate bathrooms. David’s is all dark wood, very masculine. Mine is very modern, black and white. David’s products are all hidden away, whereas mine are quite on show. David’s pretty tidy. He doesn’t really have any annoying bathroom habits.”
The couple also revealed that they’ve gotten into some local customs while in LA. Vic said, “We both like crystals, as in crystal energy. I have lots of pink quartz and black tourmaline in my bathroom. It’s quite spiritual out here [in LA]; all very positive.”
Hmmmm. A messy bathroom and some new-age hippie crystal healing? Sounds a lot like our first flatshare. We love your dresses, VB, but we’re glad we don’t have to live with you.

Chuck Norris: Actual Texas Ranger

Chuck NOrrisThere are many things we already know about Chuck Norris a.k.a. Walker: Texas Ranger. For instance, we know his tears cure cancer (he’s just never actually cried), his chief export is pain, and he doesn’t have a chin, just an extra fist. What you may not know is that in addition to inspiring legions of internet fanboys to sing his praises with endless jokes about his talent for making death cry and his affinity for ass-kicking, Chuck Norris is actually becoming a Texas Ranger…in real life.

Despite being 70 years old, Norris is finally getting the title he worked so hard to earn after 8 seasons of mowing down the bad guys with his mighty fists and devastating roundhouse kicks to the chest. As epic as it sounds, Norris won’t actually be bringing the pain with his new title. Texas Governor Rick Perry is making the actor an honorary member of the Texas Rangers squad.

Norris’ younger brother is stealing a bit of the thunder because he too will receive the honorary title for his work as a stunt coordinator and producer on the show – but let’s be honest, he’s really just being rewarded for growing up in the same house as Chuck Norris and living to tell the tale.

And in case you’ve got any hair-brained ideas about trying to crash the ceremony, you’ll need more than an extra fist under your beard. The event is taking place at an unnamed Texas Rangers office somewhere in Dallas, TX and you’re not invited. It’s too bad though; I guess you’ll just have to imagine him celebrating the honor by cutting through jail cell bars with his cowboy hat or splintering his honorary Ranger badge into metal slivers using only his two front teeth.

Scarlett Johansson is GQ's Babe of the Year

Scarlett Johansson

Scarlett Johansson is GQ's Babe of the Year
Scarlett Johansson is so damn hot she was just named "Babe of the Year" by GQ Magazine.

She's wearing a simple Tank dress T by Alexander Wang and looks flawless as usual on the cover.

Ryan Reynolds: Things Change When You Get Married

The magazine said, "At 26, she remains fresh-faced, curious, trying on new moods and outlets of expression as easily as she changes her hair color.

"This is what we love about Scarlett: that she's game, that she's good, that she can try on all these guises without seeming to try too hard. And all the while still seem genuinely like the observant, inquisitive (and very cute) girl in transition we fell for in Lost in Translation."

Not digging her new hair, but she could shave her head and still look hot as hell.

Angelina Jolie And Johnny Depp Have 'Incredible Chemistry,' 'Tourist' Director Says

'Johnny and Angie just got along so well,' Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck tells MTV News.

What does an up-and-coming director do after winning the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film? If you're the talented Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck, you do not go to Disneyland; you go out and secure the talents of megawatt actors Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie for your next feature.
The already heavily-hyped film in question is "The Tourist," loosely based on the French thriller "Anthony Zimmer." When MTV News caught up with von Donnersmarck, we talked international intrigue, the challenges of shooting in Venice and why everyone falls in love with Johnny Depp (including his co-star Paul Bettany, who confessed his feelings to us last month).

MTV: Given the story's twists and turns, what can you reveal about the plot?
Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck: I can see already that you were trying to wrangle some information out of Paul. [Incredibly enough, the busy director somehow found time to read our Bettany interview.] It's a love story, that's for sure. Imagine a woman who is just so elegant and sophisticated and educated and has lived in that world and now, through a whole set of circumstances, suddenly falls in love with a guy who is not any of those things, and it just somehow confuses her whole world because that was not meant to happen. She had it all worked out, she had this grand master plan, and neither he nor she had thought it possible that they would fall in love with each other. I have to keep the real details a secret otherwise you won't have any fun seeing it.
MTV: Is the film a remake of "Anthony Zimmer" or an interpretation?
Von Donnersmarck: I'd say, in a way, the film is inspired by a whole set of films. There's a lot of "Anthony Zimmer" in it, which is the French screenplay that they optioned the rights for, there's a lot of "North by Northwest," "To Catch a Thief," "The Thomas Crown Affair," the "Thin Man" series, "The Pink Panther" — there's just a whole sweep of films that we used as inspiration and, certainly, there's quite a few films that informed the film.
MTV: How did you assemble such a spectacular cast?
Von Donnersmarck: I think if you create a part in the screenplay and what you describe to actors where they can show some of their acting muscle, then great actors will be attracted to those parts and will be game for it. I think what people forget often when they talk about such great stars as Angelina and Johnny, they forget that what they are, really, are actors. They're actors with a capital "A," but they're much more actors than they are stars, and I think that these parts were just right for them as actors. They can really show what they can do. Angelina is so charming and delicate and feminine and strong and everything at the same time that I think when I talked to her about that part and when we worked on the screenplay together, she saw that she could really be able to do something with that part, and the same for Johnny. He shows so much of his own complexity in this part. He's so winning, so charming, so funny, like he is in real life. I think in many ways, this part is quite close to who he is in real life. He is the most funny and charming person you'll have ever met.
MTV: Well, we already know Paul fell in love with him ...
Von Donnersmarck: It's impossible not to. Everybody does. Same with Angelina. She is so much fun. Also, Johnny and Angie just got along so well, that was something I could sense straight from the first meeting that we had, the three of us. Believe it or not, Angie and Johnny had never met. Through all the years that they've been king and queen of Hollywood, they had never actually physically met, so I was the first person to ever bring them together. So if nothing else, that was a really historical moment. They just got along so well from the first moment they met that I knew it was going to be a lot of fun making this film. I probably have hours worth of bloopers where they were just laughing because they had so much fun inventing stuff on the fly and letting their incredible creativity run free.
MTV: How difficult was shooting in Venice?
Von Donnersmarck: It was difficult, and that's why most films they do all the interior stuff in studio and go to Venice for maybe three weeks to shoot all the exteriors. We really shot the entirety of the picture — except the scenes that take place in Paris — we shot them in Venice. There's a chance that we would have captured more of Venice than has been captured before; that was certainly our aim. When Angie and I first talked about it, we said, "Let's really make Venice a character. Let's have it be about Johnny's character, about her character, but also about Venice. Let's really shoot it there." Luckily, our producer was game for this, Graham King, so before we knew it, we were all in Venice and lived there for half a year, and in some of the most fantastic places along the Grand Canal, and I never set foot in a car or a truck for half a year.
MTV: Going from "The Lives of Others" to this film, was there any added pressure in having such big-name actors attached?
Von Donnersmarck: I always feel, at the end of the day, the director is one of those many people hiding behind the cameras. I think the spotlight always should be on the actors. The actors I had on "The Lives of Others" were, maybe not so known so much in America, but in Europe and in Germany they were very well-known. I don't feel that it was that different in that aspect. It was very different genre-wise and just the feel of the film, but that was part of the fun for me. I feel it's more fun to try out something completely different, and after you've done something more heavy, to do something light and breezy, it was almost a kind of self-therapy there.
MTV: What do you think will resonate most with audiences?
Von Donnersmarck: I think that they'll love just seeing a world where somehow everything is beautiful, not so much in a way that seems unrealistic. All of the things we show in the film could happen like they do in the film and could look the way they do, but even if there's a scene with 500 extras, every single extra will have been designed and sculpted by the most fantastic designers that Hollywood and Italy have to offer, so I hope people will feel transported into a world that is as beautiful as it could be, that's what I was aiming for. Most of all, I just hope they will be transformed by — as I was on the set — by the incredible chemistry and the joy and love between our marvelous actors, between Angie and Johnny, and Paul and Timothy Dalton and Steven Berkhoff, all the incredible actors that we had.

'Inferno' Director Glad To Be Rid Of 'Lindsay Lohan Situation'

Story photo: 'Inferno' Director Glad To Be Rid Of 'Lindsay Lohan Situation'
LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- It hasn't been difficult for "Inferno" director Matthew Wilder to move forward with his film without Lindsay Lohan - in fact, he's quite enjoying it.
"I feel like 16 tons of weight are off my mind not having to deal with the Lindsay Lohan situation," Wilder told Radar Online.
As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, it didn't take long to replace the troubled starlet following her jettison from the film. Just one day after announcing Lindsay was no longer attached to the biopic of iconic porn star-turned-anti-porn activist Linda Lovelace, Wilder announced "Couple's Retreat" beauty Malin Akerman had taken her place.
"Malin was passionate to take this challenge of the role to task," "Inferno" producer Chris Hanley told People at the time. "And we feel she has the talent to meet that challenge."
It's a sentiment echoed by Wilder.
"I love working with [Malin]. She is sensitive and hard-working and I think it's a great decision for our project," the director told Radar.
Although they are no longer working together, Wilder said he wishes nothing but the best for Lindsay.
"We have not heard anything from Lindsay and her camp recently but we wish her and them well," he told Radar. "I still think she has great talent and if she respects those gifts then she will go on to show people what she is capable of doing."

Johnny Depp: Why I Won't Wed Vanessa After 12 Years Together

Story photo: Johnny Depp: Why I Won't Wed Vanessa After 12 Years Together
Don't call her Mrs. Depp!
Johnny Depp, 47, tells Extra the reason he hasn't wed gal pal of 12 years Vanessa Paradis is because "I'd be so scared of ruining her last name. She's got such a good last name."
The three-time Oscar nominee, whose thriller The Tourist with Angelina Jolie hits theaters next Friday, adds he already feels as if he's wed to the French model/actress, 37.
"I never found myself needing that piece of paper," he says. "Marriage is really from soul to soul, heart to heart. You don't need somebody to say, okay you're married."
That being said, Depp admits he'd be willing to take the plunge, "if Vanessa wanted to get hitched."
For now, the twosome are looking forward to spending the holidays relaxing with their kids Lily-Rose, 11, and Jack, 8.
On the agenda: "Sleeping, sleeping and playing with a lot of toys with my son," says the actor. "Hanging out with the kiddies."

Angelina Jolie defends Bosnian directorial debut

Story photo: Angelina Jolie defends Bosnian directorial debutActress Angelina Jolie uses a mobile phone at the set during the filming of her yet untitled directorial debut in Esztergom (60 km north of Budapest) November 12, 2010.
PARIS (Reuters) - Hollywood star Angelina Jolie has hit back at criticism of her directorial debut, saying most people back her portrayal of a love story between a Serbian man and Bosnian woman on the eve of the 1992-95 Balkans conflict.
Speaking in Paris ahead of next week's premiere of a very different film -- romantic action comedy "The Tourist" in which she stars with Johnny Depp -- Jolie said her intention had never been to stoke controversy with her movie set in wartime Bosnia.
Bosnian victims of sexual violence during the 1990s have written to the United Nations, for which the Oscar-winning actress is a goodwill ambassador, saying she didn't deserve the position and did not know enough about the ethnic conflict.
"There's one person who has a gripe," Jolie said.
"The absolute majority of the people, population, the cast, prime minister, president have been extremely supportive," she said, adding that 95 percent of the film's cast had lived through the war.
Jolie has described her movie, which is still untitled, as a love story between a Serbian man and a Bosnian Muslim woman on the eve of the 1992-95 war in which 100,000 people died.
The production team has cut back on filming plans in Bosnia, however, moving some scenes from Sarajevo to be shot in Budapest, after a Bosnian minister canceled the filming permit in October, citing incomplete paperwork.
The move came after the minister met with female victims of the Bosnian war who said they objected to details of the plot.
Jolie, who also wrote the screenplay, said she had initially set out to just write to express her frustrations over how long the international community took to intervene in conflicts.
"It kept leaning toward Yugoslavia at the time, I wanted to learn more about it and the people, the more I read and learnt I was drawn to that part of the world," she said.
"I met artists from that part of the world and found they were extraordinary for what they'd gone through, so I wanted to give them a platform."
The "Tomb Raider" star has asked women war victims in a letter to hold judgment until they have seen the film in which she said "there are many twists in the plot that address the sensitive nature of the relationship between the main characters."

Josh Duhamel Kicked Off Flight After Tantrum

Story photo: Josh Duhamel Kicked Off Flight After Tantrum
Josh Duhamel didn't get to fly the friendly skies on Thursday. The actor, 38, was kicked off a flight headed from NYC to Kentucky after refusing to turn off his BlackBerry before takeoff, TMZ reports.
A passenger on the flight said that Duhamel was "very rude" and "taunting" a male flight attendant's repeated requests to turn off his device.
Upon the attendant's third request, Duhamel reportedly laughed. At that point, the still-grounded plane left the runway and headed back to the gate -- further delaying the flight and reportedly angering other passengers.
Two officers later boarded the plane, and escorted the Transformers actor (and husband to singer Fergie) off the vessel.
A rep for the actor told TMZ that Duhamel was simply texting about his flight being delayed. "He's sorry," the rep added.

Justin Bieber Can Solve A Rubik's Cube In 84 Seconds

Justin Bieber can dance like a young Baryshnikov; he can flip his hair and send young girls ricocheting off the walls like Mexican jumping beans; and he can pull off wearing those pants that make it look like he's crapped himself. We can do none of those things and that doesn't bother us. Until today, we've felt very little envy toward young Bieber and his backpack full of talents. Then we saw this video.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7xuKV6NmFIc&feature=player_embedded

Yes, Justin Bieber can solve a Rubik's cube. Even better, he can do it in 84 seconds. The last time we played with a Rubik's cube we gave up in half that time and started using it for a coaster. This video is going to force us to do something we'd never thought reasonable, something that causes great pain and forces a reevaluation of everything we stand for. It's going to force us to give Bieber props. So here you are, JB: your props.

Both movies she’s made, The Proposal and The Blind Side, have been quite successful at the box office grossing $650 million collectively.
Congrats, Sandra!

Sarah Shahi Interview , Carmen from The L Word

Yes, she really is as beautiful as she looks on TV. Actually, she's more beautiful.
© Kathy BelgeSarah Shahi was the guest of honor at Wolfe Video Party in Boston to Celebrate the 2006 NCAA Women’s Basketball Final Four. The party was amazing, with guest appearances by Sarah Shahi and Sheryl Swoopes. I had a few minutes to talk with Sarah Shahi about her role as Carmen on The L Word and how she feels about lesbian culture. Also, check out photos of Sarah Shahi, Sheryl Swoopes and all the other ladies who packed Club Cafe in Boston for the party.
Kathy Belge: How did you feel about what happened to your character at the end of season three?
Sarah Shahi: I felt great about it. I feel like it was unpredictable which as an actress I enjoy playing things that other people don’t foresee.
K: You thought it was unpredictable?
S: I do. I think there are a lot of people out there who really wanted Shane and Carmen to be together and thought their chemistry worked. But it’s always interesting when things don’t work out the way you want them to. Also Ilene (Chaiken) and I discussed it, so it wasn’t a big surprise to me.
We had discussed it for quite a while that it was leaning towards that. The other thing about it that is so great is that it’s so open-ended. So, I’m curious to find out, just like everyone else. I’m also open to what happens next.
K: Going back to when you first started. What was it like to join a cast where everyone was already bonded?
S: The good thing is that the girls for the most part are wonderful. I’m not the kind to go on a set and automatically assume we’re now best friends. I have good boundaries. I go to work and I do my job and slowly the girls got to know me and I got to know them, it was all organic the way we all started hanging out and became friends. The girls all knew each other for a year before I came in. I was the new kid on the block. But it was easy. As women and as people, we bonded and we really got along.
K: What did you learn about lesbian culture by working on the show?
S: The one thing I always say over and over again and I’ll say this to the day I die is “What the f**k is the big deal about? Leave them alone.” You know what I mean? The more I learn about it, the more I know it’s just like straight people. You have the same problems. You have the same issues in your relationships, when it comes to sex, when it comes to monogamy, when it come to having children. It’s just like everyone else. So why do they have to have so much attention on them? I don’t get it. That always confused me and I always get so irritated. What the f**k is the big deal?
K: I heard a rumor that you weren’t going to be back or at least that you have some other pilots going.
S: I do. As an actress it’s always good to expand your roles and sink your teeth into other things. But I don’t believe that my stint on The L Word is quite finished. You’ll have to talk to Ilene [Chaiken] about that, so don’t quote me. I need, like everyone else, to wait and see what happens.
K: What else do you have in the works?
S: I did six episodes of a show called Teachers for NBC that is airing right now. And then I just got a pilot for Fox where I play a lawyer. It’s called Damages. So we’ll see.

Christina Aguilera Talks About 'Unhealthy' Marriage, New Romance

'We just weren't right for each other. I couldn't face living another five years [together],' the singer tells People magazine.

After nearly five long years, Christina Aguilera's marriage to Jordan Bratman had deteriorated. The powerhouse singer, who filed for divorce in October, opens up about her "unhealthy and unhappy" relationship in the new issue of People magazine, and also speaks about her budding new romance.
"Things were so unhealthy and unhappy for both Jordan and me, I knew I had to end it," Aguilera explains candidly in the issue. "It wasn't good for us, and it wasn't good for [our son] Max to witness our arguments. When you're unhappy in a marriage, your children are the ones who suffer. That's the last thing I wanted for my son."
As noted in her hit single "Fighter," the songstress wasn't going to let her marriage fall apart without a fight. Aguilera tells the magazine that they tried to spend some family time together on a trip to Italy, but things still didn't work out."
While Xtina tried her best to save the romance, she ultimately got a reality check when she returned home from shooting her sparkling new musical, "Burlesque," in March. "When I finished filming, I didn't feel right in my own shoes [at home]," she said. "I had a lot of things stirring inside of me that I felt were being suppressed. We just weren't right for each other. I couldn't face living another five years [together]."
So what's the deal with her new boyfriend, Matthew Rutler? Aguilera admits he's "a special person," whom she met on the set of "Burlesque." "We had a really strong friendship on the movie. He's the kind of person you could spend hours on the phone talking to and all of a sudden it's daylight. Once I filed for divorce, we started dating."
When asked if she's in love, the singer explained that there's something special in Rutler, saying, "There's a love there, yes. I'm having fun, I'm dating and it's something I haven't had in a really long time."

La Roux Marvel At Having Kim Kardashian And Snooki As Fans

Dec 2 2010 3:51 PM EST 201

'I've never seen 'Jersey Shore' ... apparently it's quite a big deal,' frontwoman Elly Jackson laughs.

La Roux had quite the 2010, thanks to the smash success of their track "Bulletproof," which brought the dance group loads of new fans — including starlets and soldiers.

"A few months ago, someone sent me a tweet that Kim Kardashian — and I only just found out who the Kardashians were — and they said she just tweeted, 'This time I'll be bulletproof.' And she's got this bullet bracelet on, and they said she tweeted that, and I was like, 'Now that's really weird,' " La Roux frontwoman Elly Jackson told MTV News. "The fact that it reaches people like that — which, when we were writing it in a living room in South London, we didn't think it'd be reaching multimillionaires in L.A. — it doesn't compute with me. So it is what it is. It has a universal quality."
It seems that Kardashian isn't the only reality star with a love for La Roux: "Jersey Shore" star Snooki was spotted at a La Roux gig in New York last month. "I've never seen 'Jersey Shore' ... apparently it's quite a big deal!" Jackson laughed.
"Bulletproof" and another La Roux hit, "In for the Kill," have also become anthems for those fighting the good fight. "I think it's like we were saying before about 'In for the Kill,' it's one of those things you can take it to mean anything. I heard that amongst troops in Iraq, it was a really big song for them, obviously, because it's like 'Bulletproof' ... a great anthem for them.
"But did I ever think anyone would take that song and make it mean that for them? No I didn't!" Jackson continued. "And I think that's one of the great things about it, is that people can listen to it and hear 'This time, baby, I'll be bulletproof' and they can apply it to anything."
What do you think about the universal appeal of La Roux's music? Let us know in the comments!

Angelina Jolie Hits Backs Against Bosnian War Movie Criticism

Dec 2 2010 12:08 PM EST 6,442

'There's one person who has a gripe,' actress says of war victim's complaint.

After initially seeking to ease tensions with a Bosnian women's group that has raised concerns over Angelina Jolie's directorial debut, the actress has now spoken out against the group's leader and called her worries out of touch with mainstream opinion.
The Women Victims of War and its leader, Bakira Hasecic, have been speaking out against Jolie's untitled film — and a purported storyline in which a rape victim falls in love with her captor on the eve of the 1992 war — leading this week to Hasecic's declaration that she intended to file a complaint with the United Nations refugee agency.
Speaking with Reuters in Paris, Jolie hit back against the criticism. "There's one person who has a gripe," Jolie said.
"The absolute majority of the people, population, the cast, prime minister, president have been extremely supportive," she explained, adding that the vast majority of the film's crew had lived through the war, which lasted from 1992 to 1995.
In October, Jolie struck a much more conciliatory tone regarding Women Victims of War's concerns, saying in a statement, "My hope is that people will hold judgment until they have seen the film."
But after Hasecic's group filed a complaint with the UN, for which Jolie is a goodwill ambassador, the actress-turned-director has become more pointed in defending herself. Previously, a rep for Jolie denied the movie contained any plotline about a rape victim falling in love with her rapist. In her October statement, Jolie said, "There are many twists in the plot that address the sensitive nature of the relationship between the main characters, and that will be revealed once the film is released."
Jolie told Reuters she initially planned to pen a screenplay focusing on the often delayed international response to international conflicts, but that her research led her to focus on the former Yugoslavia. "It kept leaning toward Yugoslavia at the time, I wanted to learn more about it and the people, the more I read and learnt, I was drawn to that part of the world," she explained. "I met artists from that part of the world and found they were extraordinary for what they'd gone through, so I wanted to give them a platform."
