LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- It hasn't been difficult for "Inferno" director Matthew Wilder to move forward with his film without Lindsay Lohan - in fact, he's quite enjoying it.
"I feel like 16 tons of weight are off my mind not having to deal with the Lindsay Lohan situation," Wilder told Radar Online.
As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, it didn't take long to replace the troubled starlet following her jettison from the film. Just one day after announcing Lindsay was no longer attached to the biopic of iconic porn star-turned-anti-porn activist Linda Lovelace, Wilder announced "Couple's Retreat" beauty Malin Akerman had taken her place.
"Malin was passionate to take this challenge of the role to task," "Inferno" producer Chris Hanley told People at the time. "And we feel she has the talent to meet that challenge."
It's a sentiment echoed by Wilder.
"I love working with [Malin]. She is sensitive and hard-working and I think it's a great decision for our project," the director told Radar.
Although they are no longer working together, Wilder said he wishes nothing but the best for Lindsay.
"We have not heard anything from Lindsay and her camp recently but we wish her and them well," he told Radar. "I still think she has great talent and if she respects those gifts then she will go on to show people what she is capable of doing."
